She is named after the song that became a hit in 1967 by the band The Hollies, "Carrie Anne," which came out while the mother of her Barbara was expecting her. Moss resided with her mother in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada when she was a young girl. When she reached 11 years old, older, she joined the Vancouver children's theatre.
